After the thickness is determined and sanded by the sander, the density distribution of the finished board will be uneven. In addition, the thickness gauge on the hot press plate of the multi-layer press bears a large pressure at the end of the formed board, especially in the case of uneven thickness of the paved slab, the force is greater, causing the hot press plate to deform, and the pressed product also deforms and is shaped in an arc shape. If the thickness tolerance of the finished board is to be guaranteed, the sanding amount also increases; in addition, it will also cause the plain board with uneven density in the finished board to undergo secondary veneer processing, which is prone to inconsistent internal stress in the board and eventually causes peeling. Therefore, the product quality of the multi-layer press is generally lower than that of the single-layer press product, and its discount is only about half or two-thirds of the sales price of the single-layer press product. And the sales price of the single-layer press product is close to that of the medium-density fiberboard product of the same thickness.
The slab paving of the single-layer press is on the metal mesh belt, the transportation distance is short, and no pre-press is required. The slab and the mesh belt directly enter the hot press, and the up-down symmetry of the thickness of the paved slab is not easily damaged, and the finished board will not be deformed; while the multi-layer press has a long transportation distance, multiple transporters need to be reversed and the loading process of the hot press needs to be carried out. The multi-layer slabs are distorted and pulled, destroying the symmetry of the thickness of the paved slabs, which is prone to warping and deformation of the finished board due to poor thickness symmetry. Therefore, the single-layer hot press for artificial boards still has significant advantages.
